This article guides you through managing the CPS Agreement details for your projects. You'll learn how to link your project to existing agreements or allow the system to create new ones automatically, ensuring your project has the necessary contractual foundation.

STEP 1: Project Financials: CPS Agreement

To begin, you need to navigate to your project's financial section:

  • From this page, locate your desired project.
  • Select 'Edit' from the Actions dropdown menu for that project.
  • Once in the Financials section, you will see two main sections: 
    • CPS Agreement and Funding Profile.

For this guide, we will focus on the CPS Agreement

STEP 2: Managing Your CPS Agreement

The CPS Agreement section is crucial for linking your project to the appropriate contractual framework. You have two options:

  1. Indicate Existing CPS Agreement:

    • Choose 'Yes' if your project agreement has already been created manually in the CPS system.
    • If "Yes," you must link it to your project by selecting the appropriate agreement number.
    • Important: This action requires the CPS agreement number to approve your project.

  2. Allow System to Create CPS Agreement:

    • If you select 'No', the CPS agreement number is not required for project approval at this stage.
    • The system will automatically create the agreement in CPS the day after your project receives approval, functioning similarly to how the AOP tool operates.

pushpin Project Approval: Be aware that if you indicate an existing CPS Agreement, the presence of that agreement number is a prerequisite for project approval. If you choose to have the system create it, project approval can proceed without it being manually entered beforehand.

  1. Will my project be approved if I choose "No" and the system creates the CPS Agreement later? Yes, if you select "No," the CPS agreement number is not required for project approval at that moment. The system will automatically create the agreement in CPS the day after your project receives approval.

What should I do if my CPS Agreement has not been manually created yet, but I need project approval quickly? If your CPS Agreement has not been created manually, you should select "No" when prompted to "Indicate Existing CPS Agreement." This allows your project to proceed with approval without the manual CPS agreement number, as the system will create it automatically the day after approval.
