This article describes the steps for designating and managing proxies.
What is a Proxy?
Users may choose to designate a proxy in EPIC who can approve new user requests (Office Administrators).
• Note: Publish ability cannot be proxied (Contracting Officer, Lab Call Announcement Manager)
Timing: A proxy can take action on behalf of a user for a set period of time or indefinitely. While multiple proxies can be
designated, multiple proxies cannot be designated for the same timeframe.
Step-by-step guide to Manage Proxies
- Select the gear icon (User Settings) in the top right corner of the EPIC screen.
- . Select Manage Proxy.
- On the “Manage Proxies” page, select the Create Proxy button on the top right of the page.
- In the Create Proxy window, type or select the EPIC user who you wish to designate as a proxy in the Proxy
User drop down. - In the Proxy Issue Date field, select the date or date range for when the proxy can take action by clicking on
the calendar button.- For a Set Period of Time: Select the beginning date from the calendar, then click the calendar
again and select the stop date - For an Indefinite Time Period: Select a start date with no end date
- For a Set Period of Time: Select the beginning date from the calendar, then click the calendar
- In the Approval Types box, select the type of actions the proxy can take.
NOTE: You cannot proxy the publish ability; you may only proxy role approval and document workflow
actions (Approve/Concur/Review/Consolidate). - Select Save.
