Concept Paper Merit Review Tool Capability - Leveraging the power of AI to provide a review of Announcement submittals

Key Functionality Provided by the Merit Review Tool:
- The Merit Review Tool allows for the Announcement (Lab Call or NOFO) requirements document to be uploaded, which will drive the Ai-powered review criteria. NOTE: At this time ONLY PDF files are allowed to be uploaded. Â
- After the Announcement requirements, then any/all submissions for that Announcement are to be uploaded. Again, ONLY PDFs are allowed to be uploaded..
Steps to leverage the review tool capability:
After signing in to the Merit Review Tool page, the sign-in button is replaced with your username.
- First, Click the “Drop PDF file here” prompt under “NOFO Document” and upload the requirements documents. Ensure that the requirements document is a PDF file.Â
- Second, Click the “Drop files here” prompt under “Concept Papers/Slides” and upload all the concept papers/slides you want to review. Ensure that the documents are either PDF files.
- Third, Click “Start Review” to begin the review process.
- A loading screen should appear on the page. A message on the page will indicate when the processing is complete = "Analysis Complete"
- Fourth, click the “Download Report” button to download the report as a Word document.Â
- The report will contain summary information on the percentage of encouraged and discouraged proposals as well as information on each individual proposal such as the encourage/discourage recommendation, numerical compliance score, analysis rationale, and missing elements in the paper.
