This document maps legacy AOP roles to their corresponding roles within the new Lab Planning Tool (LPT). It helps you understand how previous responsibilities translate into the current system, ensuring clarity and correct access assignments.

Lab: New Lab Planning Roles

PMB

LPT

Account Administrator <Lab>

·        The Help Desk may grant this role if the person is on the list of “Lab Relationship Managers.”

·        This is a new role in LPT.

·        User does not have any project level access in LPT

Associate Lab Director <Lab>

·        The Help Desk should check with Brandy before granting this role. (List to be provided by Brandy.)

·        No need for additional assignment in LPT. User can perform these actions for the entire lab:

o   see lab role assignment

o   create / edit / view lab project

o   cancel planning project

o   view / edit lab narratives

Technical POC <Lab>

·        The Help Desk should notify the Account Administrator to grant approval. If the AA does not exist, the Help Desk can approve the role if the email address matches the lab.


Lab Relationship Manager <Office / Lab>

·        An Office Administrator will need to assign the user as a Lab Relationship Manager and designate the Office/Lab combination in order for the user to access any projects. User can perform these actions for the given office/lab:

o   create / edit / view lab project

o   view lab narratives

Principal Investigator  < Project Only>

·        In AOP “Lab Lead” was a contact. We suggest the “Lab Lead” contact to register as Technical POC in PM Bridge. And then request their HQ counterpart to add the person as a “Principal Investigator” in the Recipient Team section. User can perform these actions for a given project:

o   create / edit / view lab project


Business POC <Lab>

·        The Help Desk should notify the Account Administrator to grant approval. If the AA does not exist, the Help Desk can approve the role if the email address matches the lab.

Lab Operations POC <Office / Lab>

·        An Office Administrator will need to assign the user as a Lab Relationship Manager and designate the Office/Lab combination in order for the user to access any projects. User can perform these actions for a given project:

o   create / edit / view lab project

·        Help Desk Support

Functional Lead

·        Highest official in CMEI that has oversight of the entire office. Role provides the ability to view all projects within CMEI.

Assistant Secretary of CMEI

·        Highest official in CMEI that has oversight of the entire office. Role provides the ability to view all projects within CMEI.

o   view lab project

o   edit / view lab narratives

Deputy Assistant Secretary

·        Highest official in their respective sectors. Role provides the ability to view all projects within their sector.

DAS Staff

·        Federal staff supporting the Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) in various initiatives. Role provides the ability to view all projects within their sector.

Office Administrator

·        Responsible for managing user accounts for their office

·        Each office has an Office Administrator who is responsible for approving role requests

·        Can approve projects on behalf of other approvers.

Office Director

·        Highest official in their respective office. Role provides the ability to view all projects within their office.

o   create / edit / view lab project

o   review / approve lab project

o   cancel planning project

o   initiate modification

o   edit / view lab narratives

Office Editor

·        Technology Office staff who require edit rights to all projects in their technology office should request this role.

o   create / edit / view lab project

o   cancel planning project

o   initiate modification

o   edit / view lab narratives

CMEI Project Lead

·        Most Federal staff in a Technology office should request this role. Can create, view, and edit all projects for a Technology office. Can be assigned as the Technical Project Officer or Technology Manager on a project. 

·        For the aligned office at PMB registration, user can perform these actions for all projects within the office in LPT:

o   create / edit / view lab project

o   cancel planning project

o   submit for approval

o   review / approve lab project task

o   initiate modification

o   edit / view lab narratives

CMEI Project Lead <Project>

·        Can be assigned to a project via “DOE Team”. Project can be outside the person’s office. For a given project, user will be able to:

o   edit / view lab project

Project Editor <Project>

·        Can be assigned to a project via “DOE Team”. Project can be outside the person’s office. For a given project, user will be able to:

o   edit / view lab project

Technical Project Officer <Project>

·        Can be assigned to a project via “DOE Team”. Project can be outside the person’s office. For a given project, user will be able to:

o   edit / view lab project

Technology Manager <Project>

·        Can be assigned to a project via “DOE Team”. Project can be outside the person’s office. For a given project, user will be able to:

o   edit / view lab project

Program Manager <Project>

·        Can be assigned to a project via “DOE Team”. Project can be outside the person’s office. For a given project, user will be able to:

o   edit / view lab project

Contractor Support - Project Management

·        Provide programmatic support to TM or PM.

Technical Project Officer <Project>

·        Can be assigned to a project via “DOE Team.” Project can be outside the user’s office. For a given project, user will be able to:

o   edit / view lab project

Project Monitor <Project>

·        Can be assigned to a project via “DOE Team.” Project can be outside the user's office. For a given project, user will be able to:

o   edit / view lab project

 Contract Support - Project Management <Project>

·        Can be assigned to a project via “DOE Team.” Project can be outside the user's office. For a given project, user will be able to:

Training Manager

·        For all projects, user is able to:

o   view lab project
