This quick guide describes how to request the green light in EPIC. 

Roles

Announcement Manager, Back-Up, or Technology Office Comms Lead POC: Requests the green light in EPIC. 

DAS Comms Lead: Receives email stating the green light has been requested in EPIC.  

Outside EPIC, conducts sensitivity check. 

In EPIC, marks sensitivity check as started and provides the green light. 

GMS/CS: Sends OMB Notification for NOFOs and BIL-related RFIs and NOIs (see FA Process for OMB Notification Requirement 

Creates announcement in Exchange (see eXCHANGE Quick Guide: Publish NOFO or eXCHANGE Quick Guide: Publish RFI or NOI) 

Grants Officer: Receives notification from EPIC when green light is provided; publishes announcement.  

Step-by-step guide - Access Green Light Page

  1. Hover over the Announcement menu and select Announcement Management.
  2. Open your announcement: either click the Announcement Title or click Action and select Open Announcement. 
  3. Click the Announcement Development tab.

  4. Click on the Green Light Status page in the left-hand navigation.

Upload Funding Questionnaire

  1. Click the Upload Documents link.
  2. Click the Choose Documents button.
  3. Select the completed funding questionnaire from your computer, select the Document Type and Document Status, then click Upload. 
  4. Optional: Repeat steps 1-3 to upload the draft public announcement (press release, progress alert, or stakeholder email).  
  5. For NOIs and RFIs, you must also upload the final, approved NOI or RFI document to EPIC’s document library. For more details, see EPIC Quick Guide: NOI Process or EPIC Quick Guide: RFI Process. 
  6. Click Request Green Light. EPIC will notify the DAS Comms Lead that the green light has been requested.
  7. The status will change to Publication Green Light Requested.  
  8. Once the DAS Comms Lead provides the Publication Green Light, EPIC will notify the Grants Officer, and the status will change to Publication Green Light Provided
