Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why do I need to unlock the fields? You must unlock the fields to signal the system that you intend to make changes. This process ensures that changes are tracked and only editable fields are accessible, protecting core project elements like budget and scope from unintentional modification.

2. What if I can't edit a specific field I need to change? If a field is not editable after unlocking, it likely affects the project's budget, scope, or schedule. These types of changes usually require a more formal modification process beyond simple field edits. You should consult your project administrator or relevant guidelines for making such changes.

3. Will others be able to make changes while I am editing? When your project status is "Approved - Edits in Progress," it indicates that you are actively making revisions. While the system typically manages concurrent access, it's best practice to finalize and lock your changes promptly to avoid potential conflicts or overwriting.

4. What happens if I forget to lock the fields after making edits? If you navigate away without locking the fields, your changes might not be saved. It's crucial to always complete Step 4: Lock Fields, to ensure all your updates are permanently recorded and the project returns to its "Approved" status.
