STEP 1: Project Financials
Navigate to the Lab Planning Home page: From here,
Select Edit from the Actions dropdown menu for your desired project.
Select Financials: You will then see the Funding Profile Section and the Financial Data Table.
STEP 2: Understanding Your Funding Profile
The Funding Profile is where you establish your project's detailed budget plans.
Review Planned Budgets: The Funding Profile section allows you to enter detailed planned budget information for each lab project. This section displays the amount the lab anticipates for each fiscal year and fiscal month of your project.
Plan Your Financing: Providing detailed financing information for each fiscal year helps CMEI tech offices plan how to finance the funding plan efficiently. The system also aims to auto-generate financing detail records, so you only need to update individual financing amounts.
STEP 3: Viewing the Financial Data Table
Once you navigate to the Financials tab for a particular project, the system will display a financial data table with key financial columns.
The table includes columns for Fiscal Year, Planned Budget, Planned Costs, Planned Started Uncosted Obligations, and PY Unobligated Carryover.

STEP 4: Reviewing Predefined Fiscal Years and Auto-Populated Budgets
The Fiscal Year column will display a row for each fiscal year calculated from the years of performance for the lab project. These values are read-only.
The Planned Budget column automatically shows the planned budget value. This is calculated by summing the funding types Operating and Capital for each fiscal year (these values are already defined in your Funding Profile). These displayed values are read-only.
System Adjustments: If your project's fiscal years are updated (extended or shortened), this table will automatically adjust to reflect those changes.

STEP 5: Editing Lab Financial Details
Editing Financial Data is permission based: view and edit the following fields for each displayed fiscal year row: Planned Costs, Planned Started Uncosted Obligations, and PY Unobligated Carryover.
Modify Values: Click on the "Edit" action within the relevant column to enter or adjust values. You can use up/down arrows or manual entry. Entered values are restricted to currency format and will always round to two decimal points.
Manual Entry: Currently, all information in the lab financial detail table requires manual entry. There are no automatic calculations between these fields at this time.
Uncosted Plan Data: Unlike in older systems, uncosted plan data is not automatically populated from an external source. While there is a future goal to integrate data directly from the labs, for now, you will need to manually input these values.
Save Your Updates: After entering or modifying data in the table, click the Save button on the page. The system will then save the new table data along with all other data on the Financials tab.
